Current stage
This policy describes the site as it exists now: static pages, no user accounts, no listing submissions, no analytics and no payment flow. It must be updated before any of those features are introduced.
1. Scope
YACHTWEBSITE is an independent educational website, not a brokerage or transaction service. This policy covers visits to yachtwebsite.com and messages voluntarily sent to the project email address.
The formal controller identity and operating jurisdiction must be inserted before the project begins collecting personal data through accounts, forms or user listings. For the current site, privacy questions can be sent to info@yachtwebsite.com.
2. Data involved
The pages do not set analytics or advertising cookies and do not contain a working enquiry form. The site does not ask for passport, payment, guest-manifest, medical or transaction data.
As with an ordinary website request, the hosting provider may create short technical logs containing an IP address, request time, requested page, browser information and error or security events. If you email the project, the message contains your email address, the content you choose to send and normal email metadata.
3. How data is used
Technical logs may be used to deliver the site, diagnose errors and protect it from abuse. Email is used to read and answer corrections, rights requests, accessibility reports, copyright concerns and editorial feedback. It is not used to arrange a yacht transaction or build a marketing profile.
Do not send identity documents, bank details, health information, passwords or confidential transaction papers. They are not needed for the purposes above.
4. Sharing
Personal data is not sold. Limited data may be handled by the providers needed to host the site and deliver email, under their own security and legal obligations. It may also be disclosed where law requires it or where needed to investigate abuse or protect legal rights. The site does not share data with yacht owners, sellers, brokers or charter operators to facilitate transactions.
5. Retention
Technical logs should be kept only for the host’s documented security and operational period. Email is kept only as long as needed to answer the message, keep a useful record of a correction or rights request, or meet a legal obligation. Messages that have no continuing purpose should be deleted.
6. Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. Write to info@yachtwebsite.com with “Data request” in the subject and describe what you are asking for. Identity will be checked proportionately; do not attach identity documents unless they are specifically and lawfully needed.
You may also complain to the data-protection authority that applies where you live or where the relevant processing takes place.
7. Security and changes
No system is perfectly secure. Use email with that in mind and send only what is necessary. This policy will be revised before accounts, submissions, listings, analytics, newsletters or payment-related features are activated. The version and date at the top will change when that happens.
